Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast has announced multi-million-dollars’ worth of infrastructure investment for their premiere studio facility.

The investments will include the construction of three purpose-built workshops along with the implementation of wireless internet technology throughout the complex.

Village Roadshow Studios President, Lynne Benzie said these investments are a wonderful addition to the Studios and cement its position as one of the best Studio complexes in the world.

“The construction of three purpose-built workshops will really complement our existing Sound Stages and help keep up with the demands of domestic and international productions as well as maintaining our one-stop-shop capabilities,” she said.

“The workshop space can be utilised by a variety of departments from construction of sets, special effects, props making and many more.

“This new wireless system will also put the studios at the forefront of emerging technologies within the industry and will make it easier for productions to complete their tasks.

“Announcements such as these highlight the studios and Village Roadshow’s ongoing commitment to the film and television industry and we are excited for the future of the industry on the Gold Coast.”

Village Roadshow Studios is located next to Warner Bros. Movie World and offer world-class film production facilities comprising of nine Sound Stages including the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, three water tanks, ten production offices, editing suites, wardrobe, makeup, construction, paint and carpentry shops. Adding to the long list of production that have set up shop in the studios, is Baz Luhrmann untitled Elvis project which is to shoot at Village Roadshow Studios. It will commence pre-production September 2019, utilising all stages.
