The Post Lounge has officially launched its Collingwood, Melbourne facility with an evening event held on the 10th November, to introduce longform film and television producers to the new studios.

While the Collingwood space had been catering to select productions for almost 12 months, it was the recent completion of finishing touches to the facilities and the newly-bolstered production team which inspired the decision to host the launch event.facility-1

Founder Steve Cooper – who originally began the company in Brisbane 37 years ago – and business partner Kurt Royan – General Manager of both the Brisbane and Melbourne branches – recently appointed Senior Producer Bronwyn Ketels and Post Production Coordinator Ela Furdas to the Melbourne studios, joining Operations Manager Rohan Cooper to complete the core staff running the Collingwood facility.

The event saw around fifty of Melbourne’s prominent film and television producers, directors, post production supervisors and cinematographers, plus a mix of top editors, colourists and sound engineers, join The Post Lounge team for an intimate evening of wine and cheese, local boutique beer and spinning vinyl records in a buzzing atmosphere in the Collingwood warehouse studio space.

Spearheaded by GM Kurt Royan and Producer Bronwyn Ketels, the team were thrilled to show off the newly-completed suites and to introduce in-house talent, colourist Kali Bateman, and Operations Manager and in-house editor Rohan Cooper, to the attending filmmakers.

Royan said of the event, “It was wonderful to engage on a social level with so many of our clients, both current and prospective, at the same time and in such a vibrant atmosphere – there was a real excitement to the evening, and I think our clients enjoyed seeing what we have built here with this facility. A few have commented that the space should work really well for their needs, and we look forward to discussing those future projects with them over the coming weeks and months”.

A key aspect to The Post Lounge’s Melbourne offering is the ability to be flexible while operating at a minimal cost overhead, and the company intends to work with producers to satisfy facility and on-set needs which may currently not be being easily met in the market. Whether that be ‘pop-up’ editorial suites and production office space, on-set or remote data wrangling, for example, or just providing lower-cost traditional post production services to challenged production budgets, with the benefit of being able to fall back on the security and infrastructure of a larger interstate office when required.launch-party-1

The company’s foray into Melbourne is a modest expansion as a response to a call from existing clients who were wanting to work across states, but with an established company that they trusted.
