Ausfilm recently caught up with Alli Pratt, Director of Production TAG APAC, to reflect on TAG’s standout moments of 2024. Here’s what she had to say:

What a year it was! As we close the chapter on 2024 and set our sights on an even bigger 2025, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the milestones and achievements that defined TAG’s journey. From exciting opportunities and growth to seeing our work come to life on the big screen, 2024 delivered plenty to celebrate. While it was challenging to narrow down, I’ve handpicked a few of my favorite highlights to share.

Kicking Off in New Zealand

We began 2024 on a high note with the opening of our New Zealand office. This significant milestone has strengthened collaboration between our Australian and New Zealand teams, ensuring seamless production support for projects crossing the ditch. War Machine, filmed in Melbourne and Queenstown, was a standout example of this successful partnership.

This project also marked the introduction of our Travel Specialist/Travel Coordinator initiative. By leveraging the production coordination expertise of our agents, we’re delivering a service that saves both time and money. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re excited to expand this innovative approach in 2025. If your production could benefit from this collaboration, we’d be happy to discuss how it might work for you.

Screen Queensland Cairns Studios Launch

TAG’s Chief Revenue Officer, Shane Barr, and I were thrilled to attend the launch of the state-of-the-art Screen Queensland Cairns Studios. Having visited Far North Queensland in 2023, it was incredible to see the finished facility. These studios elevate the region’s production offerings, complementing its stunning natural locations.

LA Visits With Ausfilm

This year, I was lucky enough to visit Los Angeles twice with Ausfilm. My first trip coincided with all of our Global Production Managers meeting in person — Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US were all represented. Together, we streamlined processes, shared insights, and celebrated with a few margaritas. My second visit, during Halloween, was a dream come true — experiencing the festivities in the US added a fun twist to a productive week of meetings and hotel site visits.

Client Celebrations and Events

TAG hosted numerous client events in 2024, including:

  • Celebrating production clients with QT Gold Coast
  • Marking the launch of Delta’s new LA-to-Brisbane route at The Star Gold Coast

We were proud sponsors of several screen events, including Screen Forever, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, and our ongoing collaboration with the AACTAs.

Recognitions and Growth

Wrapping up the year, TAG was named Women in Travel’s – Employer of the Year, a wonderful acknowledgment of our hard work. We also expanded our Australian team from 13 to 18, welcoming Rachel Salvitti to Account Management alongside Prue Kennedy and me. Rachel’s experience in both travel and production has already enriched our team.

Big Releases and Binge-Worthy Hits

This year saw the release of several productions we supported:

  • Land of Bad
  • Anyone but You
  • Ricky Stanicky
  • Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
  • Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
  • Better Man

Netflix series like Boy Swallows Universe and Territory kept me glued to my screen on weekends!

Looking Ahead to 2025

With a calendar full of film industry events, TAG conferences, hotel inspections and office visits, 2024 was busy, rewarding and unforgettable. I’m exhausted—but excited to do it all again in 2025!
