Screen NSW celebrates the NSW-made films set for the big screen with Leah Purcell’s The Drover’s Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson, opening the Melbourne International Film Festival on August 5.

Director Leah Purcell’s hotly anticipated feature film will make history as the festival’s first opening night screening from a female First Nations director.  

Joining Purcell’s feature is a strong line-up of NSW-made feature films and documentaries, which boasts eight out of the nine titles supported by Screen NSW.

The NSW titles featuring in the program include feature films, Ablaze, Araatika: Rise Up!, Friends & Strangers, The Drover’s Wife The Legend of Molly Johnson, Uluru and the Magician, and documentaries including Geeta, I’m Wanita, River, and Wash My Soul in the River’s Flow
