The award-winning studio breaks down their work on the Oscar-nominated blockbuster of the year.
After collaborating with Marvel Studios and Director Jon Watts on Homecoming and Far From Home, Luma Pictures was invited back to deliver bespoke visual effects for the third instalment of the Spider-Man franchise. Melbourne based VFX Supervisor Brendan Seals led Luma’s global team of artists across two action-packed sequences for the film.
The studio worked on the opening NYC swing sequence and built full complex environments for Times Square and Madison Square Garden, including hundreds of assets like animated cars and crowds. Luma led the asset creation of the black and red suit as seen in the opening NYC swing sequence and collaborated with Marvel to design and create the new black and gold suit. The studio also developed and created Sandman and Electro for the Powerline Corridor sequence.
