Dongara – Port Denison is a cray-fishing town of approximately 3,700 residents in the Mid West region of Western Australia.

Its local government area is the Shire of Irwin and it is located 360 kilometers north of Perth on the Indian Ocean coast near the mouth of the Irwin River.

The Dongara – Port Denison region offers a rich diversity of locations, making it the perfect outdoor studio!

The region is surrounded by gorgeous shorelines, including the Port Denison Marina, Cliff Head Camping Area, Jurien Bay and the Irwin River Estuary.

Drive five minutes south of Port Denison via Kallis Drive to access expansive white sand dunes that can be used for sandboarding, exercise, or achieving a white sandy desert look.

Approximately 80km west of the coastline lie The Houtman Abrolhos Islands. Scenic flights and Ecotours depart from Geraldton.

Within the towns themselves you will find a large collection of heritage sites and character architectural features, including a heritage cottage built in 1868 and The Uniting Church which opened its doors in 1884.

Dongara-Port Denison is just a 3.5 hour drive north of Perth via Indian Ocean Drive or Brand Highway.
