It was an auspicious close to 2022 for Framestore, garnering two awards for their work on Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis.
In December, the Framestore team, led by VFX Supervisor Josh Simmonds under the Method Studios banner, shared the AACTA for Best VFX. The award was one of an impressive 11 awards netted by the film on the day, including Best Film, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design and Best Costume Design.
Their impressive work also nabbed the team the Asian Academy Creative Award for Best Visual/Special Effects in a TV/Feature Film, marking their fifth consecutive win, following awards for Game of Thrones Season 7, Christopher Robin, Jumanji: The Next Level and Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway.
“We were rapt to be involved in another Baz Luhrmann film; a true collaboration between so many Australian studios under the guidance of Tom Wood and Fiona Crawford. We’re hugely proud of our contribution, and blown away by the recognition it’s received.”
