Show Group‘s General Manager, Adam Tulich reflects on 2024 – the achievements, growth, and the standout moments that have defined this year.

Australia’s film, television, and touring industries have thrived this year, and we have seen many exciting projects and productions coming to life across the country. Our team at Show Group have had the privilege of collaborating with some incredible productions this year, and we have experienced significant growth and evolution along the way!

Standout achievements

A standout achievement was the relaunch of our People, Culture & Values program, the most significant in our nearly 40-year history. Developed in collaboration with Corporate Travel Management (CTM), our new values – Connect, Deliver, and Evolve – are now the foundation of everything we do, from internal processes to customer service. Leaders across our business, myself included, engaged with staff members across CTM’s business to ensure these values genuinely resonated. This effort has led to the creation of a values program and culture that will guide us into the future.

We were also thrilled to have three of our people celebrated as finalists at the 2024 National Travel Industry Awards: Emma Bradbury and Darren Swinton for Most Outstanding Travel Consultant and Kim Lodington for Rookie of the Year. This recognition reflects the passion and calibre of our team members, and the dedication of our leadership team who have mentored and supported their teams to deliver excellence.

Finally, our adoption of CTM’s full technology suite has solidified Show Group’s position as a leader in innovative, efficient, and customer-focused entertainment travel management. In an ever-changing industry, these tools help us future-proof production travel by optimising costs and efficiency while maintaining our signature personalised service.

Investing in our team

Our team remains the heart of everything we do. This year, we welcomed exceptional talent, including Angel Mafuru (Head of Film & TV Production) and Sara Howell (Team Leader), our dynamic leadership duo who have strengthened our Film and Television divisions. We have a wonderful mix of highly experienced production specialists who are ready to welcome our new entrants and guide them as they begin their career journeys in the exciting world of production travel management.

Our new company values guide our team’s development, influencing everything from recruitment and training to career planning. All team members engage with the CTM Learning platform, which supports their growth by offering courses across 24 key skill areas. Well‑being is equally prioritised, with initiatives like flexible work policies, wellness programs, and bi‑monthly Pulse surveys to ensure we stay connected to our team’s needs.

Standout projects and innovations

We proudly managed travel for feature film productions at Village Roadshow, Docklands Studios Melbourne, and Disney Studios Australia, and our Television team excelled across genres such as scripted drama, reality, and the resurgent horror category. A personal highlight was supporting the travel needs of my favourite A‑Lister talent, the very gorgeous canines from the ABC original series Muster Dogs, which is set to return for a new season in 2025.

To enhance customer support and reduce pressure on our after-hours team, we launched Show Group Twilight, a dedicated evening service for productions requiring assistance between 6 PM and 9 PM AEST, Monday to Friday. This initiative has been a resounding success, meeting the needs of production coordinators while providing work-life balance for our team. Given its success, we are now looking to expand this service across all other divisions.

Technology remains vital to our growth. This year, we implemented CTM’s technology suite for all customers at no cost. This includes Scout, an AI-powered travel assistant that offers quick and easy travel booking support. Another key feature we introduced is the ability for users to purchase excess baggage directly through our online booking tool Lightning, which is especially advantageous for our Entertainment clients.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we approach our 40th anniversary, we are committed to further cementing Show Group as one of the most trusted and innovative providers of Entertainment travel logistics. Our history is rich, and many in the industry have been part of Show Group’s journey. Guided by our renewed values, we’ll continue delivering exceptional service, investing in our people, and elevating our technology capabilities.

As General Manager, I prioritise valuing and investing in every one of our staff members with the coaching, mentoring, skills development, and recognition they deserve. Our leadership team encourages and listens to contributions for the future while proudly celebrating our nearly 40-year heritage of serving Entertainment clients.

2025 will be a year of celebration, and we look forward to continuing this incredible journey with our clients, partners, and team!
