Director Sir Ridley Scott assembled the best and brightest from around the globe when selecting his post-production crew for the long awaited prequel-sequel Alien: Covenant. Behind the cut was Oscar® award-winning film editor Pietro Scalia, to whom Scott has had a long-lasting working relationship with, and who has cut celluloid for the best in Hollywood.
Bringing with them a crew of international and Australian creatives, the film commenced production at Fox Studios, Australia.
Spectrum Films is proud to have played a supporting role as the post-production facility of choice to house the Alien: Covenant editorial team during the completion of the shoot in Australia during 2016.
Spectrum’s technical specialists set up seven AVID suites at their Sydney facility and provided editorial support and around-the-clock technical assistance for the post-production, dailies and EPK crew.
Located in the heart of Fox Studios Spectrum was a convenient walk from the film’s onsite production, allowing for a speedy and secure supply of dailies to editorial. With the support of the client services team, the Spectrum Films edit suites were a comfortable and private space for Scott and the crew to screen and review material while winding down after a long shoot.
The Spectrum team extended local hospitality to the post crew during their stay in Australia, many of whom Sydney was alien territory (see what we did there!), with Pietro witnessing his first State of Origin rugby league game in the comfort of our lounges surrounded by screaming Blues supporters. Spectrum Films is proud to have hosted the Alien: Covenant crew during their stay in Australia and look forward to working with them in the future.
Spectrum Films’ recent credits include Lion, Hacksaw Ridge, Top of the Lake: China Girl and Gods of Egypt.
