Brought to you by TAG and City of Gold Coast.
You’d be forgiven if you thought that Australia’s Gold Coast was just a home to world-class Village Roadshow Studios, highly experienced crews, a range of easily accessible locations and the host of over thirty feature films and television series in the past eight years. It is what the City is predominantly known for in the screen industry.
But that’s not all.
The Gold Coast is one of the best places in the world that makes ‘working’ here an absolute joy. There’s no crocodiles, box jellyfish or snakes. Just 32 miles of uninterrupted golden beach, majestic rolling rainforests, five-star accommodation, restaurants that could tease any palate and an outdoor lifestyle at any time of year. It is a City that has all the down-to-earth warmth and charm of a regional town, with all the vibrance and opportunity of a sophisticated city.
The Gold Coast has all the makings of a great story – whether that be on set or when you’re looking to experience something special in your down time. Below, TAG, your experienced Film and Production Travel Managers, have provided some suggestions for you to consider once you’ve booked the Studios and locked in those locations for your next production on the Gold Coast. We can’t wait to welcome you!
Hotels:
There are hotels to suit everyone and every budget on the Gold Coast. Amongst our client’s favourites, we have picked out the following selection from Broadbeach, a short distance from the bustling Surfers Paradise. Broadbeach boasts a world-class dining scene with an abundance of quality restaurants and social scene, becoming a favourite location for many cast and crew from international film productions.
- Peppers, Broadbeach – High end apartment hotel which is extremely popular with international and local cast and crew. With spectacular views and quality fit-outs, they offer spacious 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments including their renowned 3 bedroom ‘sky homes’ – you have to get in early to secure these homes as they are very popular and booked out in advance.
- The Darling – Located at the Gold Coast Casino, this hotel is the perfect combination of boutique design and luxury, as well as having access to some of the best signature restaurants/bars on the Coast as well as the Casino.
- Avani – Apartment style hotel in a fantastic location on Broadbeach, often used as a more affordable property for crew and families. Light, bright and airy, your own home away from home with top-of-the-line mod cons and comforts.
However, if it’s action you’re looking for, then look no further than the vibrant Surfers Paradise that boasts an array of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants.
