20 September, Sydney – Ausfilm, Australia’s industry association for screen service businesses responsible for attracting international film and television productions to Australia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Roache to the role of Director of Marketing, Communications and Industry Partnerships based in the Sydney office.
In this role, Tom will lead the marketing team to develop and execute global marketing and communication strategies that drive awareness of Australia as a leading production destination including Australia’s screen production incentives and the creative businesses (Ausfilm Members) that support the Australian screen industry’s continuing excellence and growth.
Tom has extensive marketing and public relations experience having worked in senior roles with global studio powerhouses including The Walt Disney Company, 20th Century Fox and Paramount Pictures. Over his career he has spearheaded integrated, multi-disciplinary campaigns for a diverse range of titles such as Jojo Rabbit, Bohemian Rhapsody, Deadpool 2 and worked on numerous iconic Australian titles such as Happy Feet, Bran New Dae and Mao’s Last Dancer. Previously, Tom ran his own successful communications agency, The Publicity Dept, which serviced international clients and local film productions.

Tom will commence in the role on 4 October 2022.
