The Location Offset is a 30% refundable tax offset (rebate) on Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure (QAPE). All formats must have a minimum QAPE of $20 million.
Qualifying spend can be for physical production, post-production, music, sound and VFX.
Australian states and territories may offer production attraction incentives or grants of 3-10% on your spend in the state or territory. Eligibility, spend thresholds and qualifying production expenditure differ in each state and territory. You can combine the state and territory production attraction incentives or grants with the Federal Location Offset, increasing the amount you can save in Australia. This calculator provides an estimate only.

You may also be eligible for a post/VFX incentive or grant from one or more state or territory governments. You can combine state or territory PDV incentives or grants with the Federal PDV Offset, increasing the amount you can save when completing post and VFX in Australia.

If you are filming and undertaking post/VFX in the same state or territory, then the state or territory incentive or grant may be combined as one offer. Contact the state or territory screen agency to discuss.
If your production does not meet the minimum state or territory PDV incentive threshold, please contact the state or territory screen agency to discuss the specific needs of your project.

The 30% Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Offset is a refundable tax offset (rebate) for Qualifying Australian Production Expenditure (QAPE) incurred in relation to picture, music & sound post-production, animation and digital and visual effects work.
The Federal PDV Offset cannot be combined with the Federal Location Offset or the Producer Offset.
