Animal Logic‘s Sydney and Vancouver studios are in full swing with four animated features under way: DC League of Super-Pets, The Shrinking of the Treehorns, The Magician’s Elephant and Toto, with Peter Rabbit 2 in cinemas!
It’s been a delight to see audiences back in cinemas, enjoying Peter Rabbit 2, which was released in Australia this year on 25 March to a healthy domestic box office. The hybrid live action/animated feature was number one at the UK box office when it opened on 17 May and is now releasing across the globe. The ambitious sequel, starring James Corden, Rose Byrne, Elizabeth Debicki and Margot Robbie, was produced by Animal Logic Entertainment and Olive Bridge Entertainment. Almost 500 artists and practitioners from Animal Logic worked on the film, with hundreds of live action crew and a number of VFX studios including Method Studios, bringing the tale of Peter Rabbit to life.
Continuing their long-standing partnership with Warner Bros. (The LEGO Movie Franchise, Happy Feet, Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga’hoole), Animal Logic’s Vancouver studio is well into production on DC League of Super-Pets, set for release in May 2022, with Dwayne Johnson recently announced to voice Superman’s dog, Krypto. Production is just kicking off on the animated musical Toto, the Wizard of Oz story told from the perspective of Dorothy’s beloved dog.
Animal Logic Entertainment and Imagine Entertainment’s first production from their joint venture, The Shrinking of the Treehorns, is currently underway at Animal Logic’s Sydney studio. Ron Howard is making his animation directorial debut in this timeless, holiday musical adventure, which will be released by Paramount Studios. The Sydney team is also working on The Magician’s Elephant with Netflix, directed by VFX veteran Wendy Rogers.
